Calum’s List
The Actual Memorial Pages
This is the second page with a simple list of 7 of the 60 souls we remember.

We are placing a new, respectful and relatively short memorial on this Calum’s List site.
Memorial On These Pages
Few Words. Just The Memory of Those Who Were
Loved By Family & Friends
This website’s “list” pages are now intended to be a respectful memorial with the names of our friends on this website and no content that can accidentally distress any relatives, family or friends who visit these pages
The links to source material and especially
FAI; Police; Coronial & law Review Reports will
still exist for the sake of veracity
and good legal practice.
We recommend family members
do NOT follow those links please.
The original “list” of 2012 needed to be overhauled as, astonishingly, it was getting trolled by… well a mercifully small number of internet trolls who make a living through being offensive to many charities and voluntary groups (people such as Brendan O’Neill were an appalling discovery).
As of the new custodians of this website, from March 2025, we will have 94% of the “list” in name form only. This photo of Steph just before he died makes the point. Life is too full of death and images stamped onto your retina. Time to focus on solutions that prevent death. We all know what death looks like (my heartfelt good wishes to Steph’s family and special appreciation). All of the other 59 photos like this (excepting Paul Reekie) have been removed.
My sincerest thank’s to the family of Steph Smith. Kindest wishes, Calum xxx.
Nope. No more of these photos. This is the only one we have kept on the site. It is respectfully placed here to give our new readers an idea of what used to be on this website. Now we are focussing as much energy and resources (many of these: click here) to stop folk having to go what Steph did…
OK, I was kind of worried this would happen. It’s Calum here at this end of the end of the keyboard. The time is 3.03am in the morning and I just woke from PTSD addled nightmare of a… in fact I will not mention the details as it is unfair to spread images about what can never be unseen. Even just the words describing the deaths an old cop has witnessed can upset many folk.
The details to remedy Lethal Letters (here) and evidence the fact 1 in 4 of us will have a medical issue in our lives relating to mental health means it would be hypocritical of me and reckless of this website (and the new charity) to now break those considerations ourselves.
Out of respect to family members who may stumble across this memorial list, as well as many folk in an uncomfortable frame of mind, we are removing 94% of the 2012-2019 photographs.
Many pictures are/were horrific.
This list will now be just a memorial. Hopefully that is enough.
All of our friends are remembered in name. We list only 60 of the UK total that is factually between 2,821 and 81,140 (here)
It has taken me 2 months to work out a way to let you know and feel the depth of pain amongst our friends and families and reducing distress.
Hopefully, the solution below helps bring the gravitas, the impact and the waste of life that will repulse all decent human beings, without harming anyone or causing needless upset.

Keeping Avoidable Distress Away From You
As of 4.24 am today, 1st June 2025, there is no living person, other than myself who knew Jason McLean. So this should not hurt anyone who has a family member on this list.
My brother Jason McLean died of leukaemia. But a few weeks before he died, he was burnt badly.
I include my brother and the video film excerpt that follows – in an effort to ensure anyone reading this list can understand the pain and anguish of this horrendous “List” without having to see dozens of horror stories.
Crucially, by keeping the graphic, nightmare, PTSD inducing details and images as happened to 58 of the 60 real-world Calum’s List tragedies off of these pages, this will avoid the RISK of you accidentally reading about one of your friends or relatives on this website.
By keeping this to one single remote event, the realisation of gravitas here should be evident with no risk of harming any of our friends and relatives who visit these pages.
Please forgive my approach. We really need a way to convey the mass tragedy, to help reduce these awful volumes of deaths. This list has 60 folk named. We stopped at 60. These are friends and relatives of Mick Moore’s original DWP-Disability-Help website (5,000 members).
In fact I still have a heartfelt wish this site has been called…
“Michael’s List”
The 60 friends/family members on this list are but a drop in the ocean.
The official figures we secured in 2015 were between…
2,821 and 81,140 Debt Deaths
(Once Source: Here)
Perhaps the fact that it is actually 2,821 to 81,140 debt related deaths and such an avoidable set of tragedies might help in explaining why those of us that remain are so passionate about reducing the number of these horrific events (actually there is only one of us left from the original crew… though with a dozen new helpers).
By looking at a stranger’s life, through the photo and video below, it may help illustrate that each one of the 2,821 to 81,140 deaths is a death too many.
In the way I am hoping to narrate this, it will also avoid any risk of accidentally retraumatising family members of our 60 bereavements on this website.
I am hoping you have never gone through this sort of trauma. Sadly, my hope will be forlorn for all too many of you.
One Lost Soul
The police and medics attended the family home with news about my brother (Jason died at 2 years 1 month and 26 days of age.) Jason died just a few weeks shy of my 7th birthday. So it was difficult to process.
This is why the police and medics attended…
^^ Calum’s Brother: Jason McLean ^^
Jason Was Born: 16th January 1963. He Died: 13th March 1965.
But there is also the other side and for the avoidance of doubt, this is one of the reasons I genuinely struggle with this website.
Every day, since this site started in 2012, I wish “Calum’s List” was called “Michael’s List” after the founder of this website.
In fact I would be forever indebted if this list never needed to exist.
But for whatever reason, Mick registered the site in 2012 with Calum in the top website name bar, and here we are, 13 years later. I am the last person alive and standing in, from when Mick started his main DWP-Disability-Support-Forum. For reasons that will become clear, I cannot let down my friend Michael Moore.
Nor would it be conscionable to let down any soul who is in the the Highest Arbiter video (here), where over 50% have had suicidal thoughts… because of money, when I know money problems are almost always solvable.
So let’s get down to work and finding a real world solution to the avoidable deaths.
As for the struggle I have with the list and for that matter the first charity (here).
This excerpt is included here as it sums up the emotive and profound nature from both the recipient and the provider of a death message.
Why? Because this is the kindest, gentlest way I can think of in helping many of our readers to understand “the list” without having to see any of the horrific pictures of real distress.
The unbidden images of toddlers in the arms of a despairing mother as she jumps from a 3rd-storey building ending both of their lives (and an unborn child).
Sometimes fiction is enough to understand facts in a way that avoids you, our reader, getting the same pictures of death burnt onto your retinas…

In real life, and one of many reasons, I and many like me wake at 3am addled from a PTSD nightmare is because of what you have just seen.
I am one of four brothers. We only lost one. Heaven knows what losing three children is like to a mother, father and family.
Sadly, 16 years after the police came to my door with news of wee brother Jason, I was one of those police who had to go knock on the doors of other people with the worst news that some folk would ever receive.
I still remember an older sergeant at Tulliallan police training college recommending we take off our uniform hat when leaving the police car and walking up someone’s driveway. It gives the person some seconds, maybe half a minute’s grace to understand and prepare themselves that something very bad is about to happen.

Sorry everyone, Calum here again. I have not seen this actual list in a decade and this is proving harder than I anticipated to make sure all the details and links work.
If you are fortunate in your police service or medical career, then it may be that no child fatalities cross your eyesight.
Unfortunately, I and one of my colleagues had two fatalities involving young children, one of which bore an uncanny similarity to Christelle Pardo and her baby son, Kayjah.
We attended what are sometimes termed the “last offices.” That includes post mortem. Whatever your or their belief system, I know not how the Home Office pathologists cope with this duty in post mortem protocol, where children are involved.
If you have children, it is likely that thoughts at the mortuary proceedings induce terror and fear. Yet we, as police officers, must as a matter of duty, keep our composure. It would be letting down the family and the deceased if we failed in our duties.
I had worried about minimising this memorial list to just some names on a place like this part of this website in perpetuity.
Especially as we are determined to stop precisely this tragedy. Christelle got her paperwork through. It was all in order. Just too late. This death of a young mother, plus her infant son and unborn baby should not have happened.
Add to that, the vile comments by trolls such as Brendan O’Neill (here) and I feel physically sick at avoidable deaths happening whilst some “journalists” such as O’Neill make money out of tragedies by a twisted form of self-entitled “duty to offend”.
In this case, the efforts here caught his eye. He must be a strange form of human being to take pot-shots at the disabled and deceased. I trust this nausea and flashback problem here at this screen today are a natural reaction to what are sickening matters.
Alas, the flashbacks are causing my capacity to check the reference sources of this “list” are compromised today. Even decades after having to attend various post mortems, the ones where children were involved can be one of the most challenging thing a police officer and the mortuary staff have to attend.
For today, 1st June 2025, if you will forgive this old soul, we will cease the work on updating the Calum’s List for a couple of days whilst the cortisol and PTSD reduce.
Days like today, I wish my friend had named this “Michael’s List” or something else other than Calum.
Then again, just being present at a mortuary and keeping formal records is far, far easier than what Christelle’s family had to go through. So best toughen up a bit at this end of the keyboard.
We will complete this part of the website. It is just taking longer than anticipated.
My apologies.
Calum

Hi again everyone, it’s Calum here after a few days away from this page.
It’s not as manageable as I thought… paying respects to each person on this truly terrible list.
An incredibly good friend is going to see if she can check out all the web links of our 60 friends here ~ to make sure they are still properly hyperlinked to other pages after 10 years since the job was last doe.
We need to make sure all of the information and reference detail are where they should be. That the web-links with other (external site pages) are correct. This is in case you require to study why suicide happen and what we can do to reduce that number.
This kind of brings me back to part of our “Rule 11″…
^^ If You Are Having A Tough Time ^^
Our aim is to help you have the resources to get out of a tight spot.
Once you back on your financial feet, hopefully if you would like, perhaps you could think about volunteering with some of our crew and look to joining in a nationwide roll-out of money advice centres. Many of which, will be located in rent-free accommodation at the growing number of “Community Hub Banks”.
